Contentious Aftermath of Divorce for Reality TV Star Bethenny Frankel

Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel recently ended a divorce process that took three years to complete. Now Frankel and her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, are still involved in serious drama in the aftermath of their divorce being finalized.

Frankel and Hoppy first met in New York City in November 2008 and got married in March 2010. Their marriage was a particular point of interest for avid watchers of the “The Real Housewives of New York City,” a popular reality television show on which Frankel starred for years.

A major issue in the divorce was asset division, with Frankel’s net worth estimated at more than $100 million due to her role as the founder of the Skinnygirl cocktail company. Frankel later said that her business success was a problem in the marriage because Hoppy “resented” her achievements.

When the divorce was finalized July 2016, Frankel spoke with the media about how difficult the lengthy, contentious process was for her and for the couple’s daughter. Frankel went so far as to call it “traumatic” and a “divorce from hell.” These comments did not sit well with Hoppy, who has since referred to his ex-wife as “insensitive.” Hoppy’s divorce attorney also spoke with the media and said that Frankel’s public comments could do serious damage to the couple’s child.

Frankel and Hoppy have a daughter who is now six years old. Shortly after Frankel filed for divorce, the parents arrived at a child custody agreement that gave both parents joint custody of their kid.
