With an estimated population of 1,750 as of May 2023, Ancram is a part of the Capital District region and boasts a rich history dating back to 1803 when it was established. Interestingly, the town underwent two name changes before finally adopting its current name in 1814, starting as "Livingston" and then "Gallatin." The early growth of Ancram can be attributed to the area's abundant reserves of iron and lead. Today, Ancram comprises three hamlets – Ancram, Ancramdale, and Boston Corner.

If you've encountered a traffic violation in Ancram, New York, it's essential to know that the town doesn't have its own local police department. Traffic enforcement is managed by the New York State Police and the Columbia County Sheriff's Department, both of whom can conduct traffic stops and issue citations.

Any tickets received within the town are handled by the Ancram Town Court.

Commonly, traffic violations in Ancram arise along the town's major roads, including New York State Route 22, New York State Route 82, and County Route 3.

NYS-22 serves as the town's primary north-south bound road, running parallel to the eastern town border. As it enters from the north, it passes by Weed Mines. Additionally, County Route 3 intersects with NYS-22 near Weed Mines and is the main road connecting the middle section of town, providing access to the southwest corner. This road also passes directly through the heart of Ancramdale. Another route that passes through Ancramdale is New York State Route 82, which enters the town from the west and continues southeast, passing through the Hamlet of Ancram before reaching Ancramdale.

I was living a nightmare of being falsely accused in a judicial system that considers all fathers to be dead beat dads until proven innocent. Living out of state and facing the possibility of jail, I miraculously found Jon’s website and called his office. Within a week the tables were turned, the lies were exposed, and the harassment was stopped. If you need someone that will challenge the system, then you need Jonathan Katz. Greg Weaver

Jon’s integrity towards his clients is what makes him a standout attorney. He makes it a priority to know what's important to you. You’re not just a number. He is upfront with you right from the start. He will not string you along just for his financial benefit. He is only willing to settle the case if that's truly what you want. Anytime I called him I received a call back from him that day. Not someone else in the office. He is an attorney that has a passion for what's important to his clients. John Morrissey

Being a single mom, I had enough stress in my life. I had no idea how to go about protecting myself. My daughters were my priority. Jon walked me through the process. He turned a difficult time into a workable solution. Diane Chiriani

Jon thinks well, works to be clear and honest. He works to get to a strong argument. He seems to have a good working relationship with everybody at the courthouse. I get the feeling he has no trouble thinking like a judge. He is friendly and courteous. He doesn't overbill. He takes and returns calls promptly. His legal staff is friendly and competent.
